Galveston Mardi Gras!
Cree woke up sick yet determined to make it happen . We loaded 30 beach balls on the World Famous Tracker and off we went. Much the same as last weekend our World Famous Beach Ball Laden Tracker was a huge hit. About 3pm we headed for he Strand which is the center for Mardi Gras . We could only carry 10 beach balls and our bag so we left the World Famous Tracker on display on 23rd street and walked in . Cree was still woosy so we piled the balls in front of the Strand Art Center and crawled in our bag (above photo) . Bag? We do bagism . Look it up . John Lennon. It is really a unique experience with someone you love. After a nice little siesta we decided it was time to release the balls into the crowd for our photo shoot . It was pretty awesome. Ten huge colorful beach balls bouncing through the Stand pre parade crowd. The roar of the crowd was ever bit as loud as when the Momus parade came through . After The parade we had reservations to listen to local Jazz. It was an awesome way to finish out the night . Returning to the World Famous Tracker about midnight we realized all our Beach balls had been stolen ! I was sort of braced for 1 or 2 to be gone but 20 , four foot beach balls! As we drove around we started seeing people carrying a few of them . After several discussions we realized our bold, brazen , Mardi Grasin ****** thieves had been kind enough to take the balls to the strand and release them . A policeman told us we should have been there , it was a sight to see! Stealing art sort of sucks yet we love you for at least sharing our balls with the party . Please contact us and we will give you a very special gift certificate! We never got our photo and have to reorder balls before we can shoot again. However I think it is a fact the biggest hit of Galveston Mardi Gras 2008 was BEACH BALLS ..
